Hello to all of my Jaw Bloggers!!
Just wanted to drop in and let you all know I have completed the
orthognathic/orthodontic journey. My
braces came off in June and I do not miss them a bit. I want to thank you all for the support we
have shared throughout this journey and I wish the best for all of you who are
still considering jaw surgery and those of you who are still in the
process. It is a long and sometimes
difficult road but worth it in the end. Please
ask questions as needed by blog or email.
Blessings to you all!!
Hey there! I just finished reading your blog. In May 2013 I'm also having Lefort 1 Osteotomy and Bilateral Saggital split osteotomy, along with genioplasty with chin advancement. I find blogs like yours really helpful in knowing what to expect and how to prepare! Congratulations on finishing your treatment!
ReplyDeleteWow May 2013 is here and I just now read this post. I hope you are doing well and please let me know if you have any questions or need encouragement. I will check back often. Just know, that everything is going to be fine and I am praying the best for you.

DeleteHI Rita,
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog, I had Lefort 1 along with palatal expansion surgery on Dec. 17th of this year. I'm 9 days post surgery and I'm feeling better every day. I do have one question for you...as I read through all these blogs and personal experiences nobody says much about numbness and I am experiencing a ton. My whole top teeth, gums, and roof of my mouth are completely numb. Did you experience this yourself and if so does this go away?
Hi! Glad you read my blog. I did experience numbness and some of it is still here. However for the most part, you will get your feeling back. Because of the numbness I can eat and ice cream cone with my front teeth first. :) And I can hold ice in the roof of my mouth till it melts and not feel the cold. I am okay with what numbness I have. My advice, Enjoy it while you can because when some of it comes back you may feel pain in those areas. The longer the numbness the more time everything can heal. I wish you the best!!
